Oren Lang, 31

Vice president, Nathan’s Glass & Mirror Inc., North Hollywood, Calif.

When Lang completed college in 1999 and returned to his family’s contract glazing business, his first goal was to grow the company within five years to warrant its own fabrication facility. He accomplished his goal in a year and a half, allowing Nathan’s to grow exponentially after that. “We no longer depended on big suppliers so we could get [the fabrication] done in a couple of days.” Looking back, he finds it difficult to pinpoint his first day on the job. “My dad has been doing glass as long as I can remember. We are originally from Israel and he did some of the first buildings in Tel Aviv a long time ago. Growing up, I tagged along and helped out any way I could.”

Today, Lang is known to put in long hours at work to make sure customers’ needs are met. “We try to be as honest as we can with our customer. If I can do it, if I promise it, I’m going to make sure I do it.”
