Robin Randall, 37

Vice president of corporate marketing, Traco, Cranberry Township, Pa.

With a flair for acting and voiceover work, Randall never thought her career would be with the family business. After some time working in the television broadcasting realm and later with a talent agent, she recognized and ultimately opted for all of the creative outlets available at Traco. “I never thought I’d be in an actual corporation but I fell in love with the energy and the environment and the vision of the company.” Being a creative and forward thinker plays into the innovation she believes is critical to succeed in the glass industry. “You need to be looking internally and externally, always aware of the market today, but you should always be building for the market of the future as well.”

Randall owned her own corporate event planning company for several years—a job she loved—but she found it didn’t provide her enough of a challenge. “I was blessed to do it all myself, but I just wasn’t challenged. It was too easy. Traco had an opening in marketing, and my dad had been talking to me for a good two years about coming back to the company. This position opened up and it was a perfect fit for me.”

Although she no longer does much acting, Randall writes a lot of poetry, loves to dance and travels as much as she can.
