William Wright, 40

Production technologies manager, Architectural Glazing Technologies,  Sanford, Maine

As a drafter, designer and software programmer, Wright understands the importance of breaking down big projects into manageable pieces. “It’s important to break things down to their simplest form, to the point that you can work on them efficiently and effectively, and also delegate parts to a team. Specifically in the design world, we work on some complicated building designs. To break those down into smaller parts to be able to work on them is very helpful.” Wright transfers this theory to his personal hobbies as well, which include developing investment strategies. “I do a lot of investing research.”

Wright began his career in the glass industry simply because he was looking for a shorter commute. “At the time, there was an architectural skylight company six miles from my house. I sent them my resume and that’s how I got started in the glass industry. I wasn’t really looking to get into it but I fell into it because it was close to home.”
