Winter weather techniques

During the winter, windshield repair technicians face challenges particular to the season. Following are some basic cold-weather tips from the NGA National Windshield Repair Committee to help ensure you produce high-quality repairs in the winter months.

 In cold weather:

 • Keep resin in a pocket where body heat will keep it fluid

 • Keep an ultraviolet lamp inside your vehicle where hot air from the heater can reach it

 • Take your repair kit indoors at the end of the day.
