Decreased backlogs, increased competition mark a tough year for U.S. glazing companies

The economic recession hit U.S contract glaziers hard in 2009, according to respondents to Glass Magazine’s annual Top 50 Glaziers survey. Glazing firm officials reported challenges maintaining a backlog, securing new jobs, dealing with canceled projects, facing increased competition and working with decreased margins.

Available for download below, the Top 50 rankings present what Glass Magazine believes to be the United States’ 50 largest contract glazing firms, based on sales volumes. The glazing firms are ranked within eight sales categories, with short company biographies provided for each. Many of the biographies also include descriptions and photos of notable projects completed in 2009.
