Growth in green retrofits is occurring more rapidly than growth in new green buildings. Today, green building comprises 5 percent to 9 percent of retrofit and renovation market activity by value—projected to grow to 20 percent to 30 percent in just five years, according to the Green Building Retrofit & Renovation SmartMarket report from McGraw-Hill Construction, New York.
