As announced by Landglass, Luoyang, China the Combined Force Convection Tempering Furnace supplied to Schott (Suzhou) has now been operating continuously for nearly three months, according to a Feb. 16 Vesuvius release. Schott has confirmed that the equipment has passed all around acceptance and its technical parameters have met or exceeded the standards.

The Combined Force Convection Tempering Furnace includes Landglass’ jet heating technology, 3-millimeter tempering technology supported by Siemen’s advanced control system, and Vesuvius Smartly Driven tempering rollers.

Landglass and Schott conducted tempering tests on printed panels ranging from 2.85 mm to 8 mm and low-E glass. Quality indicators such as bow, waviness and granularity all met or surpassed Schott's acceptance standards, according to the release.

In early 2008, Vesuvius launched the patented Smartly Driven all mechanical end caps attachment system.
