Great Glazing: Kiln-fired blue kitchen glass
Photos by Mark Boisclair.
The basics: A private residence in Scottsdale, Ariz., features blue kiln-fired cast-glass cabinet doors and bar top. "The clients for this project were University of Michigan fans and wanted a 'Michigan blue' in their cabinet doors and bar top," says Pete Hayes of Meltdown Glass Art & Design. "This project was unique for texture, color, and application for kiln-fired glass."
The glass: The cabinet door glass is 3/16-inch low-iron tempered cast glass, texture MD202 Flow, with fused color, Cobalt Blue. The bar top glass is ½-inch low-iron tempered cast glass, texture MD214 Chablis with fused color, Cobalt Blue.
