New members from Australia, New Zealand join IAGF

Instant Windscreens from Australia, Trans Australia Glass Pty Ltd., and Instant Windscreens from New Zealand, Instant Windscreens Ltd., have joined the International Automotive Glass Federation, according to a Feb. 12 release. Both companies are committed to establishing a national trade association for the Auto Glass Repair and Replacement industry in both countries.
“By joining InterAutoGlass we see opportunities to improve the certification process
for our specialized fitters,” said Murray McGrath, director, Instant Windscreens, in the release. “We see many benefits for our companies being affiliated with an international network. It will assist us to access the specialist tools and support we need for continual improvement.”
Pim de Ridder, managing director of InterAutoGlass recognizes the long-established technical knowledge in both countries. “I think most countries in the world take advantage of the standards developed by our colleagues in New Zealand and Australia. We are looking forward to our co-operation,” he said in the release.
IAGF started at the end of 2007. It concentrates on technical standards and codes, training programs, and health and safety issues. The activities will also be visible in national and international competitions for auto glass technicians or fitters, according to the release.
