Saint-Gobain to build new auto glass plant in China

Saint-Gobain Sekurit, the automotive business unit of Saint-Gobain, France, announced the construction of its second Chinese automotive glass plant in the Shandong province of Qingdao, close to the company's float glass production site, according to a May 10 Saint-Gobain release.

About $71 million will be invested in the project in three phases between now and 2014. The first manufacturing line will start production in mid-2012, according to the release.
