Additional price increases to go into effect

Pilkington North  America Inc., Toledo, Ohio, announced in a July 26 letter that it will increase prices on all float products as follows, effective Aug. 16, 2010:

  • Clear float products by 14 percent
  • Tinted float products by 8 percent
  • Pilkington Optiwhite low-iron glass by 8 percent
  • All on-line coated products by 8 percent
  • Patterned glass products by 8 percent.

In an Aug. 1 letter to customers, Walker Glass Co. Ltd., Montreal, announced a price increase of its own, effective Aug. 16 as follows:

  • All Walker mirror, glass and Textures products of clear float origin up 14 percent
  • All Walker mirror, glass and Textures products of low-iron Starphire origin up 8 percent.

In addition, Guardian Industries Corp., Auburn Hills, Mich., stated in a July 29 letter that it would increase prices on the following products, effective Aug. 23:

  • 14 percent increase on clear float glass
  • 9 percent increase on clear pattern glass, all tinted and specialty glass products, all coated products and all tempered glass products
  • 6 percent increase on all mirror products and all laminated products.
