Architectural Billings Index sees upturn in August
The American Institute of Architects' Architectural Billings Index made an about face in August, according to a Sept. 21 AIA release. After four months of declines, including a very weak July, the ABI was 51.4 in August—any score above 50 indicates an increase in billings. Additionally, the new projects inquiry index showed steep gains, reaching 56.9, up from 53.7 in July.
