A+W reveals new name, logo

Albat+Wirsam Software GmbH announced it has changed its name to A+W Software GmbH. The name change is part of a new corporate identity for the software provider, which launched a redesigned website at glasstec last year.

“The company name of Albat+Wirsam was well known and highly esteemed but has also always been a lingual stumbling block likely to produce confusion because of wrong pronunciation or spelling," said Dr. Uwe Schmid, CEO, in a release. "Now, we are totally, and only, A+W, which makes things a lot easier and will help to strengthen our appearance on the market. “

The name change follows A+W's purchase by Constellation Software Inc. this February. A+W operates as an independent division of Constellation's Friedman Operating Group. 

“In the past two years, we have been setting up a completely new product generation, have improved our service organization, and are now, after being taken over by Friedman Corp., totally redesigned," said Dr. Michael Küttner, A+W company communications, in the release.
