Eiffel Tower to get glass floor
A glass floor will be the main feature of a $34 million facelift of the Eiffel Tower, its third renovation since it was built in 1889, reports The Connexion.
Architects Moatti-Rivière won a competition for the contract and plan to install a solid glass floor in the central void at the bottom of the tower that will allow visitors to look down on the square below. The floor will be surrounded by inclined glass safety barriers, according to The Connexion report.
