Eight-year-old survives 30-foot skylight fall

An 8-year-old girl fell 30 feet through a skylight of a Brooklyn rooftop playground, but miraculously suffered only a broken arm and leg, authorities said.

The accident happened as the girl, who attends Beis Ruchel D'Satmar Girls School at 1415 54th St. in Borough Park, was heading to a staircase. She wanted to go down to the street to retrieve a ball that had fallen off the roof at 3:30 p.m., authorities said.

When she stepped on the skylight, it gave way, and she landed in a multipurpose room, according to a May 15 article in the New York Post.
