New technology debuts at 2nd annual Glass Processing Automation Days
FeneTech introduced its newest ERP software upgrade, FeneVision Neo, to an audience of 180 users and prospective customers at the 2nd annual Glass Processing Automation Days, June 25. The two-day event is designed to educate senior-level executives of glass processing companies about how advanced software technology can help them gain competitive advantages, especially in a weaker economy.
The FeneVision Neo upgrade allows users to customize their screen background choices from the black Neo or a medium black version, both of which make the graphics pop, according to Fenetech officials. Users also can select Neo classic with the familiar white background. The software company also eliminated the "click once" feature with this new upgrade. Available on mobile tablets, the software upgrade can be downloaded for free from both the Apple and Android stores. More information is available here.
A number of supplier sponsors also presented new technology at the conference, including Bystronic Glass Inc. President Scott Knisely introduced the company's new High Speed Assembly and Gas Press Line capable of applying warm edge spacers on rectangles or complex shapes and triple units in uninterrupted production. Knisely noted that while there is slow adoption in North America for triple units, in Germany, triples represent 45 percent of the market; in Austria and Switzerland triple units are at 70 percent and expected to be at 100 percent by end of 2014. The new machine will be on display at glasstec in Dusseldorf, Germany, Oct. 23-26, 2012.
Other event sponsors making presentations at the event include Hegla, Durst, Eurotech Way and SoftSolution. AGC Glass Company North America, Intigral, Mappi, Sturtz, Caldwell, Fasco/Roto, Veka, Ventana USA and Weiss also are present with tabletop displays.
