Number of fallen windows up 60 percent in 2009: BCA & HDB

The number of fallen windows from high-rise flats and apartments [in Singapore] rose some 60 percent last year to 71.

A joint statement by HDB and the Building and Construction Authority said sliding windows accounted for 40 percent of the total number of fallen windows recorded from January to May this year, according to a June 4 Channel News Asia report.
