The solar energy glass manufacturing operations of Tamglass Glass Processing, a subsidiary of Glaston Corp., Finland, will cease in Akaa, Finland, and the entire 15-person staff  will be made redundant by the end of March, according to a March 25 release.

The factory in Akaa has manufactured mirrors for solar energy production as a service activity on behalf of one customer. Tamglass Glass Processing's personnel have been temporarily laid off since October 2009.

The cessation of operations in Akaa does not affect Glaston Corp.'s manufacturing and product development of products aimed at the manufacture of solar energy glass, according to the release.
