Pleotint Partners with Thompson I.G.
Pleotint, LLC, manufacturer of the dynamic Suntuitive interlayer technology for adaptively tinting architectural glass, has formed an association with Thompson I.G., LLC, an insulating glass fabricator located in Fenton, Mich. The association is designed to help Pleotint advance research and development of its Suntuitive interlayer technology, not to position the company as a glass fabricator, according to a release.
“By creating an association with Thompson I.G., we now have direct access to lamination capabilities so that we can not only improve our product, but also learn how to better serve our glass laminator partners and end customers,” said Paul Ogburn, vice president, Pleotint, in the release. “Now, we can produce samples of laminated glass featuring the Suntuitive interlayer for our glass-laminating partners and their customers around the world and easily qualify more laminators.”
The Suntuitive interlayer is a commercially available window technology that gradually darkens in response to rising temperatures caused by direct sunlight, then clears to a bright, neutral tint in cloudy or dark conditions. The Suntuitive interlayer requires no mechanical intervention, which effectively eliminates the threat of failure caused by faulty wiring, poor electrical connections, broken circuits or temperamental computer systems, Pleotint reports.
