PPG glass sales for second quarter 2012 in line with prior-year period

PPG Industries reported net sales for the second quarter 2012 of $4 billion. Net income for the quarter was $362 million, according to a July 19 release.

Glass segment sales were $273 million for the quarter, down $1 million from the prior year. Higher flat glass volumes were offset by lower pricing and the negative impact of foreign currency translation, according to PPG officials.
