Santelli Tempered Glass reportedly closes its doors; faces lawsuit
Santelli Tempered Glass Inc. has shut its doors and is now facing a lawsuit from the Florida city that helped to fund the opening of a new location, according to a Sept. 5 Ocala.com report.
Headquartered in Monessen, Pa., Santelli Tempered Glass received an incentive package from the city of Ocala, Fla., in 2010 to expand its business to Florida and create 35 new jobs in Ocala. According to the Ocala.com article, the Ocala City Council plans to sue Santelli for failing to meet its obligations. The suit will seek $26,616, plus interest of $2,981 through Jan. 18 and $4.90 a day thereafter to repay the money the city advanced, the article states.
At press time, attempts to confirm the closure of Santelli Tempered Glass had been unsuccessful. The company's main phone number had been disconnected and website deactivated.
