Smart Line of Raleigh, N.C., will show new machines: the patio door assembly machine and the glass load/unload machine.
The patio door assembly machine automatically places heavy insulating glass units, usually weighing more than 50 pounds, into patio door sash and frame. The entire cycle takes about 20 seconds, tripling the production rate over a manual placement and creating a safe environment for workers, according to a company release. A standard machine handles units 24 inches to 50 inches wide and 72 inches to 96 inches high, up to 120 pounds.
The glass load/unload machine automatically loads glass from the conveyors to the rack, or the reverse. A standard machine is capable of handling glass units 24 inches to 50 inches wide and 48 inches to 96 inches high, up to 120 pounds.
