Classic Line architectural aluminum products

Vitro America, Memphis, developed a comprehensive line of architectural aluminum products designed to complement its full line of architectural glass. The company introduced aluminum entrances, storefront and curtain wall systems to its Classic Line Architectural Products, in standard and custom options. The line includes thermally broken systems, as well as screw-spline assembled storefront and curtain wall products. Impact-resistant systems are planned for availability this summer.

The Classic Line Series 200, 300 and 500 entrances incorporate a corner block construction with an interlocking design, mechanical fasteners and backup plates. This type of door corner construction ensures structural integrity and eliminates the need for welded corners, enabling the glazing contractor to modify the doors quickly by taking them apart and cutting them down to size, as needed.

The Classic Line storefront systems include a full-height interior leg sill flashing for enhanced protection against water infiltration. The systems also include full-depth pockets that remove the need for flat fillers at the perimeters and allow direct anchor attachment to the substrate, eliminating the blind seal. "Storefront systems are only as good as their ability to prevent water infiltration in the building, so we have designed our systems to address the most common areas of concern," says J.D. Williams, product development manager for Vitro America.

To streamline fabrication and installation of its screw-spline systems, Vitro America offers the Time Fabsaver hydraulic punch press and die sets to contract glaziers. Customers are eligible for a rebate on these items based on purchase volume, or can obtain the die sets separately if they already have their own press.
