Energy-efficient window

YKK AP, Austell, Ga., added the YOW 350 XT commercial aluminum window to its enerGfacade product family. The architectural grade window offers thermal-resistant properties and barriers to minimize energy loss, according to a company release. When used with low-emissivity glass, the YOW 350 XT achieves a U-value of 0.34 in a fixed window configuration, and a U-value of 0.35 in casement and projected configurations. The window uses YKK AP`s MegaTherm technology, composed of low conductive polyamide strips that separate exterior metal from interior metal, providing a continuous thermal barrier to reduce condensation and conserve energy. The system also provides balanced sightlines to optimize daylighting, according to the release.
