Expanded color options for Solar-E

Pilkington, with North American headquarters in Toledo, expanded its line of energy-efficient solar-control low-emissivity products. The Pilkington Solar-E coating, that provides low solar heat gain coefficients, glare control and low reflectivity, is now available in Arctic Blue, Blue-Green and Grey. The coating can help achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification and assist with lifecycle assessments, according to a release. Solar-E, along with Pilkington’s other pyrolytic (hard-coated) products, can be bent, insulated, laminated and tempered, and needs no edge deletion for insulating glass manufacturing. A ceramic frit or silk screen can also be applied to the coated surface. The coating will not oxidize or change color over time.
