Fire-rated glass-ceramic

AGC InterEdge Technologies, Sausalito, Calif., announced the addition of the Pyran Platinum glass-ceramic to its line of fire- and safety-rated glazing products. The fire-rated glass-ceramic uses an innovative, patented manufacturing process that results in optical quality and superior clarity—with virtually no distortion, according to a company release. The product was developed specifically for the high standards of the North American architectural market for use in fire-rated doors and windows with ratings from 20- to 180-minutes. It an eco-friendly fire-rated glass-ceramic, made without the use of hazardous heavy metals. Safety-rated Pyran Platinum is available in both filmed (Platinum-F) and laminated (Platinum-L) units for use in hazardous locations.
