CPFilms Inc., Martinsville, Va., unit of St. Louis, Mo.-based Solutia, introduced LLumar Helios flat glass film for the outside of windows. The film provides heat, glare and ultraviolet protection, and can be used on single and double glazing. It is scratch resistant, ultraviolet and weatherproof, and easy to clean. Its one-sided mirrored surface offers privacy, according to a company release. Made from a patent-pending hybrid polymer with several interlocking layers, the film’s stress tests in the climate laboratory show it lasts about three times longer than flat glass films previously available on the market, according to the release. The film provides solar energy reflection of about 85 percent and keeps out more than 99 percent of ultraviolet rays. Qualified LLumar distributors install Helios flat glass film.
