Flexible bonding adhesives

Henkel Corp., Rocky Hill, Conn., introduced Loctite 5510 adhesive/sealant and Loctite 5570 adhesive for flexible bonding applications. The permanently elastic and primerless products resist vibration, movement and impact, and bond and seal a wide range of dissimilar substrates including metals, glass, nylon and plastics, according to a company release. One-component, odorless and non-corrosive, the products are free of solvents, isocyanates, silicones and polyvinyl chloride, and offer excellent initial tackiness to hold glass in place while curing in five to seven days, depending on the humidity. Available in white, gray or black, Loctite 5510 bonds and seals simultaneously, skins over quickly and cures to a tack-free surface. It can be used for air and water penetration joints, expansion joints, doors, windows, wall penetrations, precast panels, siding, roofing and gutters. Loctite 5570, in clear or white, replaces mechanical fasteners and rivets. With high initial tack and fast setting, it works well for high productivity, high volume applications, according to the release.
