Glass washer

The Sommer & Maca Machinery Division of C.R. Laurence Co., Los Angeles, will introduce its newest heavy-duty, 60-inch Vertical Open Top Glass Washer (VHDW60). Made in the United States, this machine can be built with optional powered conveyors and inspection lights.
The heavy-duty motors, providing a total of 8.25 horsepower, will easily move large glass lites through low-E brushes and air knife dryers at speeds up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) per minute. Glass 60 inches (1.52 m) tall and up to ¾ inch (19 mm) thick can be cleaned in one pass. Glass that is 120 inches (3.05 m) tall can be processed in two passes. The Re-circulating Detergent and Miser Rinse feature is standard. A final Rinse Water Saver Solenoid is also included. Even with the blower and water tanks, the VHDW60 takes up only 72 inches (1.82 m) in depth and 264 inches (6.70 m) in width. The lowered conveyor loading height of only 28 inches (711 mm) helps with material handling. A compact new control panel makes machine operation simple, according to the exhibitor. Booth 1717.
