Thermique Technologies, Chicago, introduced the application of Thermique heated glass for windows in healthcare facilities and museums. In healthcare applications, Thermique glass eliminates chills and drafts that can be harmful to patients, especially burn victims who are particularly sensitive to chills. The windows act as a transparent radiator, reducing the need for traditional HVAC. In addition, moisture on windows can provide a breeding place for mold and bacteria. Condensation doesn’t form on Thermique heated glass. It also reduces window condensation in museums, where the high-humidity indoor environment required to protect exhibit pieces can cause fog or frost on glass.
