Hafele America Co., Archdale, N.C., developed Aximat, an institutional hinge for thin panels and heavy glass doors. The Aximat 300 Thin Panel Hinge allows a 270-degree opening angle and has a sleek design, with only 5 millimeters of knuckle visible. This hinge is 3D adjustable and can handle glass doors up to 78 ¾ inches tall and 23 5/8 inches wide, weighing 531 pounds, and with glass thicknesses from 5 mm to 8 mm. It is available for inset and overlay doors, and features an integrated catch to keep doors closed without requiring magnetic catches.
