Sungate 600 IGU

PPG Industries will display ultra-clear, high-performance Solarban 72 Starphire glass and its passive, low-E Sungate 600 glass. Designed for heating-dominated climates, Sungate 600 offers improved thermal performance. The supplier will also promote dual-pane insulating glass unit technology that combines Sungate 600 glass on the No. 4 surface and Solarban 60 glass on the No. 2 surface, separated by ½-inch argon gas-filled space, to achieve R-5 insulating performance. The IGU produces a winter nighttime U-value of 0.22 or less and enables window manufacturers to meet new federal mandates for energy efficiency while avoiding the higher production and material costs associated with triple-glazed windows, according to company officials. Several other new products incorporating the passive and solar-control, low-E glass coating technologies will also be on display. Booth 2911.
