High-performance spacer

Edgetech I.G., Cambridge, Ohio, introduced the Super Spacer nXt, a hybrid foam spacer that offers thermal performance, recyclability and reduced production energy usage. It features a hybrid desiccated elastomeric foam technology, proprietary core and pre-applied side adhesive that can reduce IG production time and energy usage by up to 40 percent, according to a company release. The spacer is recyclable, as the materials used can be melted down and reused at Edgetech’s plant. Additionally, the spacer works well with triple-pane systems, and provides a reduced threat of perimeter condensation, excellent thermal performance and enhanced sound dampening properties. It provides a virtually seamless seal and is available in a variety of colors with a metallic appearance.
