IGU sealant

Germany’s eco international GmbH & Co. KG introduced eco-pur, a two-component primerless polyurethane applied as a secondary sealant for single and multichamber insulating glass unit production. Mercury- and poly BD-free, the catalytic product adheres to glass and spacer bars made of aluminum and galvanized steel and cures within a few hours, according to a company release. The sealant keeps gas in and moisture out, compensates for glass and metal expansion, and its low viscosity optimizes robotic and manual application, according to the release. The product can be stored in a dry area between 41 degrees Fahrenheit and 77 F for six months.
