Officials from Glasslam N.G.I. Inc., headquartered in Pompano Beach, Fla., announced the patent-pending Air-Tight Sudden Impact insulating glass system. It allows window manufacturers and glass fabricators to quickly and efficiently produce insulating glass that meets hurricane impact codes, according to a company release. A layer of clear resin is applied with a proprietary process bonding one interior glass surface with the Air-Tight spacer, creating a hurricane impact unit with two pieces of glass. The company will license the system in strategic markets throughout North America, according to the release.
