Protective, high-performance entrance system

YKK AP America, Austell, Ga., enhanced its Model 35H entrance system with additional high performance glazing options. Part of YKK AP's ProTek family of products, the Model 35H hurricane impact and blast mitigation entrance system is now able to accept 1-inch laminated insulating glass. The system meets increasingly stringent energy codes, and passed rigorous testing standards to receive Florida Statewide Product Approval. The upgraded Model 35H provides a redesigned glazing pocket as well as wet and dry glaze options for hurricane impact and blast mitigation, accommodating ¼-inch to 1-inch glass with a variety of glazing stops and gaskets. When glazed with standard 1-inch insulating glass units with a center-of-glass U-factor of 0.29, the total system achieves a U-factor of 0.78.
