Officials from Munson Machinery of Utica, N.Y., announced the model 16-4SS sanitary rotary continuous mixer. It blends ingredients in ratios down to one part per million with 100 percent uniformity, according to a company release. The slowly rotating 16-inch-by-4-foot cylinder contains proprietary mixing flights that have forward- and reverse-pitch, or back flow, mixing action. Bulk ingredients are distributed thoroughly and gently in short residence times, while eliminating internal restrictions where material could plug or accumulate, according to the release. The mixer is suited for de-dusting of materials including glass, as well as spray coating, perfuming, agglomerating and conditioning of materials.
