Satin finished glass

Vitro America, Memphis, introduced Pavia satin finished glass. The glass is produced using a special acid treatment, which may be applied to either one or both sides, resulting in the characteristics of a soft surface, translucence and a degree of opacity. It reflects 7 percent of harmful solar rays and unwanted heat rays, allows 90 percent of light transmission and reduces exterior heat by 30 percent, according to a release. Pavia is available in a variety of thicknesses from 2 millimeter to 12 mm in clear, tinted and designed. Applications include glass walls, partitions, shelving, table tops, shower enclosures, lighting and furniture. The glass can be used for interior or exterior applications, and can be tempered or laminated to meet safety requirements.
