Silicone sealants and adhesives

Bondaflex, Lakewood, N.J., developed two rapid-cure, non-sag, neutral-cure silicone sealant/adhesives for structural glazing applications: Bondaflex Silfast 501 and Bondaflex Silfast 502. Silfast 501 is a ready-to-use, one-component sealant/adhesive that offers high-quality window fabrication, faster production of curtain wall and skylights, high performance and ease of use for impact security glazing systems in the shop or field, according to a company release. The versatile, two-component sealant/adhesive Silfast 502 reduces material waste and costs by providing a fast-assembly solution that combines structural glazing and weatherseal applications into one product. Both products provide flexibility for dynamic joint movement and bond to most substrates without priming, including vinyl, glass, aluminum, tile, fiberglass, and many plastic and painted surfaces.
