Konarka Technologies will promote is Power Plastic 40 Series panel: a lightweight, thin-film, organic solar material that is more versatile than traditional solar panels, according to the exhibitor. When integrated into products, the DC electrical energy that Power Plastic generates can be used immediately or stored for later use. Its low-light sensitivity enables it to generate energy earlier in the day―and for longer periods of time―in full or partial sun, the company reports. Power Plastic has an operating temperature range of -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 149°F, features a user-friendly design, and can conform to a variety of shapes and contours for more design freedom. Available in three standard sizes, it can be built to any length for custom applications, according to company representatives.
