Uniglass Engineering Oy of Finland presented three tempering furnaces, the Uniflex, Unicharge and Unitop.
The Uniflex open coil radiant furnace is designed for mixed production with quick load change. It features a turbo convection upgrade capability and supports top convection using compressed air and preheated compressed air. The furnace’s patented Uniglass Power Balance system uses air flow from the bottom to adjust the ceramic roller temperature.
Unicharge suits both high volume runs and mixed production with quick load change. It features turbo-charged top and bottom convection for superior capacity, energy savings through hot convection air recirculation, and a fast responding open coil heater design, according to a company release. Individual turbocharger units on the outside of the heating chamber re-circulate oven air and provide individual convection control for both glass surfaces, as the radiant heating system channels heat according to the measured pattern.
The Unitop furnace, designed for soft-coated low-E glass qualities, also works for mixed production with quick load change. It has turbo-charged top convection for high capacity, provides energy savings through hot convection air re-circulation, and can be upgraded to Unicharge. The glass’ top surface is heated by forced convection with air recirculated through turbocharge units. The patented Uniglass Power Balance system feeds the heated air to the bottom surface of the glass in the middle of the heating cycle.
