Textured glass

Bendheim introduced EcoGlass, a line of textured architectural glass containing 60 percent recycled material and produced in a highly enviro-sensitive factory. The glass is well-suited for a range of commercial and residential applications, including curtain walls, partitions, sliding doors, shower enclosures and lighting. Glasfabrik Lamberts manufactures the glass in a clean-burning oxygen/fuel-fired cast glass furnace, and it contains a minimum 20 percent pre-consumer and up to 40 percent post-consumer recycled glass. For safety and security applications, Bendheim tempers EcoGlass in a highly energy-efficient oven and laminates utilizing environmentally-sensitive processes and materials.

The glass has excellent daylighting qualities and is available in 10 textures, offering varying degrees of privacy. It can be supplied in combination with custom color interlayers or color coatings for decorative feature walls and backsplashes. Bendheim’s proprietary color-coating process employs isocyanate-free pigments and produces a VOC-free, maintenance-friendly product. EcoGlass can contribute points to LEED v.3: EA Credit 1 “Optimize Energy Performance,” MR Credit 4 “Recycled Content,” and IEQ Credits 8.1 and 8.2 “Daylight & Views.” The glass comes in 5/32 inch (4 millimeters), ¼ inch (6 mm) and 3/8 inch (10 mm) thicknesses and is available in sheet sizes up to 70 inches by 126 inches.
