Nanomanufacturing technology provider, Applied Materials Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., introduced its Applied SunFab thin film line. It is an integrated production line for manufacturing thin film silicon photovoltaic modules using 5.7-square-meter glass panels, according to a company release. The line can be configured with single cell technology with only amorphous silicon, or tandem cell technology that combines a thin layer of multicrystalline silicon with a layer of amorphous silicon.
