Firestone Metal Products Co., Anoka, Minn., developed the Una-Clad Series 1200 aluminum composite wall panel system and the Una-Clad SC-1 extruded aluminum sunscreen system. The Series 1200 wall panel system, a caulk-free product, uses a Una-Seal foam gasket closure at the panel joints for water and weather resistance. Panels attach to the perimeter framing without the use of exposed fasteners, and then mount to the wall with a snap-on slide clip. The weather resistant barrier system behind the cladding allows air pressure to be transmitted through the panel system by way of vented openings in the panels, preventing wind driven rain from entering the wall cavity. The SC-1 sunscreen comes pre-engineered or can be customized to fit any project, according to a company release. Options include blade types, outrigger profiles, wall attachments and a range of colors and sizes. Blades come welded or mechanically attached, and can be set to any angle and spaced as required.
