Grove Structural Shims of Leominster, Mass., will show its expanded 3⁄8-inch-by-25⁄16-inch-by-3-inch white solid shim. The shim does not rot, stain, or corrode. Able to withstand 7 tons of compressive force, it can be used for general applications as well as more demanding tasks, such as pre-cast or tilt-up. Ninety-eight percent of the company’s shims are made from recycled plastic materials. Specially ordered shims can be made fire-resistant, and samples are available upon request.
