Salem Flat Glass and Mirror, Winston-Salem, N.C., now offers Nova Felt, the latest development in synthetic polishing wheel technology. The base construction of this wheel is a polyester fiber impregnated with bonding agents and polishing enhancers using state-of-the-art polymer technology. The Nova Felt fiber architecture yields an open pore structure that will readily accept a cerium charge but resist “loading” and glazing. This allows the wheels to polish much like natural wool but with all the positive characteristics of a synthetic material. These value-packed synthetic polishing wheels deliver a payback of long life and bright finish at high speeds with the lowest pressure.

Nova Felts are available in sizes to fit most production bevellers and edgers that polish with cerium oxide and felt wheels. They are also available in ready mount. This system eliminates time-consuming gluing of felts to hubs.
