John E. Kalakos, former executive vice president of Traco, passed away on April 13 at his home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was 79 years old.
Kalakos was a widely known figure in the commercial window industry, working diligently to develop client relationships for Traco for more than 40 years. He was highly motivated and well respected by clients, co-workers, and competitors.
After Alcoa purchased Traco in 2011, Kalakos retired and consulted for Peerless and Specified Systems Inc. Kalakos had integrity; was open, direct, and kind; and caring of others. He was iconic in his success and will be missed by his friends and family.
