Vitro Announces Partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers

Vitro Architectural Glass has partnered with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

About the partnership

Vitro becomes the first partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Mexico, as part of the National Football League's Global Markets Program. The Global Markets Program "grants NFL clubs access to international markets for marketing, fan engagement and commercialization activations as part of a long-term strategic effort to enable clubs to build their brands globally while driving NFL fan growth beyond the US."

Western Pennsylvania, the historic center of glass and steel making, is the ideal confluence between Vitro and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Vitro has roots in Pittsburgh, as its architectural glass business, Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass), was founded there in 1883.

With nearly eight million fans in Mexico, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the second largest fanbase in Mexico amongst all NFL teams.

“We are delighted to start this partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both organizations share many characteristics in their origins and culture, such as dedication, teamwork and commitment to deliver nothing but the best in their respective fields,” says Vitro CEO Adrian Sada. “We are convinced this partnership will yield substantial benefits to both organizations.”

Vitro's sustainability efforts

Vitro’s oxy-fuel furnace technology reduces energy consumption in glass-melting furnaces by as much as 20% and lowers greenhouse gas emissions by 50%. Vitro’s low-emissivity glass products reduce the energy lost through typical windows by 35%, delivering a return on carbon by decreasing a building’s operational carbon yearly.

One of Vitro’s energy-efficient products, Solarban 60 glass, is featured at Acrisure Stadium, the home of the Steelers. Solarban 60 glass is a solar control, low-e coating designed to block 62% of solar energy while allowing 70% visible light. Its properties provide year-round comfort and heating and cooling cost savings.
