Fulfilling multiple design needs with glowing, low-iron channel glass systems from Technical Glass Products

TGP is taking architectural glazing systems to new heights with Pilkington Profilit™ OW, a translucent, linear, low-iron channel glass system that allows the passage of light in interior or exterior applications. Pilkington Profilit OW consists of an extruded perimeter frame and self-supporting low-iron oxide cast glass channels. The lower iron content allows for greater light and solar transmission and a less green appearance than is typical of standard glass. The channel glass system is available in Standard Cast, Wave and Macro textures and can be coated with Low-E, Antisol® and Amethyst coatings. This system can also be sandblasted for added privacy or backlit for a vibrant, dramatic effect that also supports wayfinding.

PriWatt Glass Solutions for Health Care Buildings

• Increased Patient Privacy:

The switchable smart glass panels can be easily switched from clear to opaque ensuring an increased level of patient privacy in examination rooms,
patient rooms, and operating theaters.

• Observation Without Contamination:

Cross-contamination from highly contagious pathogens such as MRSA is a growing problem in hospitals. A key benefit of switchable privacy glass is that
hospital staff can easily observe a patient by flicking a switch, without risking cross-contamination of infectious diseases.

• A Hygienic Alternative to Curtains:

Switchable glass is simple to clean and maintain, making it a hygienic alternative to traditional hospital curtains and blinds. Harmful germs can
easily gather on the surface of curtains and these are difficult to sterilize. The antibacterial features of Smart Glass provide a hygienic and cost-effective
alternative not only to traditional hospital curtains but also to curtains in homes and offices without endangering lives.

• Reduced Noise:

Research has shown that noise plays a negative role in healing. Decreasing noise in patient care areas helps the healing process and facilitates a faster
recovery. Laminated smart glass installed into an acoustic partition significantly decreases noise contributing for a quieter healing space.

Triple Silver Low-E Coated Glass

Guardian Glass' triple silver low-E coated glass has an advanced triple silver coating technology that delivers a consistently neutral reflected color regardless of viewing angle, while achieving a Light to Solar Gain (LSG) ratio of 2.41.

SunGuard SNX 60+ glass has been engineered to maintain a uniform, neutral reflected color—whether monolithic or laminated (also with embedded coating). Inside, the glass offers a neutral transmitted color, allowing natural daylight to enter while helping to reveal the true colors of interior finishes and furnishings. To support clear views and transparent connections between indoors and outdoors, SunGuard SNX 60+ glass provides low external and internal light reflection—14% and 15% respectively.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, SunGuard SNX 60+ glass delivers solar control and thermal insulation. The glass allows 60% visible light transmission while achieving an LSG ratio of 2.41, helping balance daylighting and heat gain. With a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.25 and a U-value of 0.29, SunGuard SNX 60+ can contribute to reduced cooling loads, enhanced thermal comfort, and helps to meet stringent energy codes.

SunGuard SNX 60+ is available on a variety of glass substrates, including Guardian Clear standard float glass, Guardian CrystaClear and Guardian UltraClear low-iron glass to further enhance color neutrality, as well as Gray, CrystalGray and Green tinted glass options. These substrate choices offer architects flexibility to tailor performance and appearance to the project requirements. The product is offered in 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-millimeter thicknesses, in super jumbo (130 inches by 240 inches), jumbo (130 inches by 204 inches) and split sizes, and requires heat-treatment by a Guardian Select Fabricator.
