The MITER Foundation, the charitable arm of MITER Brands, MI Windows and Doors, and Milgard Windows and Doors, raised a record $2.3 million at its annual golf outings in Pennsylvania and Arizona, beating last year's total of $2.2 million. The golf events are the primary fundraising activity for the primary causes supported by the MITER Foundation: cancer support, veterans' affairs, children's wellbeing and local outreach.

"Our golf events keep getting bigger every year," says MITER Foundation Specialist Gwen Mallon. "We're grateful that we're able to come together with our team, our customers, our suppliers, and our business partners to raise money for so many important causes."

A schedule of socializing, speakers and awards

The events on Sept. 26-27 in Prescott, Arizona, and on Oct. 4-5 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, were two-day experiences. On day one, guests arrived in the evening for a catered dinner, then listened to a series of inspiring speakers discussing the foundation’s work before engaging in a charity auction. On day two, guests participated in the golf tournament. The events concluded with a catered lunch, during which awards were announced.

"This is always a wonderful occasion," Mallon said. "Every year I'm awestruck at the generosity and support of everyone who attends. I can't wait to see what we accomplish at our 25th golf outing in 2023."

Speakers at this year's events included Debbie Stantus and Perrine Theys from Phoenix Children's Hospital; Steele Ford and Kevin O'Brien from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; Kelland Garland from the Woody Williams Foundation; and April Bubb, whose son conquered childhood cancer thanks to support from the Four Diamonds Fund.
